Hi all, i have a redundant immersion heater switch that is no longer required due to the installation of a combi boiler. Can any one please advise the best way of isolating the switch which is on its own supply from the consumer unit. The supply is currently switched off on the board.

    Thanks

Leave it switched off at the c/unit and replace the switch with a blanking plate.

The best way would be to disconnect it and remove it from the consumer unit believe it or not. Can you not utilise it for anything, power to the loft for eg.

When my parents had combi installed and immersion heater removed from aiting cupboard, I built proper shelves for linen etc and used theirs for a supply for a light. Boring I know...but it keeps em happy :)

I don't see a problem leaving the switch and circuit as is. Could be used for something further down the line.

Change it for a switched spur though (3A) if using it for a light.
