Is an RSJ Required?

I wish to knock down part of a wall joining my conservatory to my converted garage.
The span of the opening is 2.4m so I propose to put in a lintel or RSJ of 2.7m total sitting on padstones.
The wall is single skin brickwork and is what would be the exterior wall of the garage; the inside being just a cavity then timber studwork insulated and plastered.
The garage has a pitched roof which is supported entirely on the two end walls so the wall which I need to partly remove has no load from the roof i would presume.
I do need to however support the single skin brickwork above going up to the apex of the roof and wondered if a concrete lintel would suffice or to use an RSJ? Would a 152 x 89 suffice to hold the apex up?
    Thanks IMG_1592[1].JPG IMG_1595[1].JPG
