Kitchen-sink - Plumbing space requirements?

    Hi,

How much space is needed for plumbing under a kitchen sink?

I ask because I have a space 143cm wide - and want to cram in three things: the sink, a fridge and a dishwasher.

Would it be possible to get extra cupboard space by mounting the sink on the work-surface itself, rather than in a recess?

    Hope this makes some sense!

  2. The only part of a sinktop that must sit inside its own space is the bowl - the drainer can go in any bit of worktop, even over fridges and W/Ms.

    So you have a W/M - that's 600mm - and a fridge - that can vary, but let's assume it's also 600mm wide - so that leaves 230mm for the sink bowl.

    That's too small, man.

So, you need a narrower fridge. A 500mm wide fellow will give you 330mm for the bowl - and that's still a teeny size.

I fear you are pushing your luck. But the starting point will be to find a sink with a suitably small bowl. I guess something designed for mobile homes and suchlike might do?

Does CrawfW not realise, if he showers straight after having his dinner, he can wash the dishes, wash his clothes and get clean all at the same time. No need for an expensive piece of worktop in't kitchen. Savings all round. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

He could probably get rid of the toilet as well.

My missus told me off for "doing the toilet " when I'm in the shower. I told her that 99% of men do it in the shower.. She replied, "Yes, but most of them don't leave skid marks on the tiles." :p:p:p:p:p
