folks some advice please just had new bath, basin and toliet installed in bathroom when i turn the hot water tap in the bath (its a ideal standard cereplan 2 hole bath filler the pressure starts high then quickly goes low....takes ages to fill bath, the tap off and on it does the same again!!....at one point it stopped completely. cold water is fine. also when running the bath the hot water in the basin stops? any ideas...thanks its a condensing boiler
hi pipe work has been changed the waste is on the opposite end of the new bath so new pipes were laid....also new valves have been installed on the fittings how do i get rid of an airlock? the new bath mixer requires min 0.1 bar max 5.0 would this be the problem?
no, 0.1 bar is very low pressure, pump mains water up the pipes to get air out, google airlocks loads of info.
if you struggle there. longshot"but it can work leave hot tap on and sometimes it will force its way out
cheers mate ive checked again when i turn on the hot water bath tap, there is no water coming from the hot water basin tap!!!! hot water basin is fine on its own is this an airlock???
Is the cold on the bath cold mains?.If so turn the hot tap on put your hand over the spout and turn the cold on for 30 seconds let go and see if that works, if not try a little longer.
Sounds like the gate valve to the hot water cylinder isn't fully open, only allowing a tricke past. This will build up in the pipework when the tap is off and give a normal flow for a few seconds and then go back to a trickle. Find the right 22mm gate valve in the airing cupboard and make sure it is turned anti-clockwise as far as it will go, if it keeps on turning the installer has sheared it and needs to be called back to sort it out. Did you ask him about the tap before he left?
its a gravity fed system...bathroom is upstairs...cold water tank in the loft...hot water in adjacent airing cupboard im going to give the bathroom fitter a buzz tommorrow the bath hot water starts at normal pressure but the pressure reduces quickly...its not that bad but not what it used to be!!!
im going to give the bathroom fitter a buzz tomorrow Yes good idea. You still have the bath tap on cold mains from a gravity system. Did you say the basin tap is ok and is the kitchen hot ok.
either airlock or as thread man says gate valve problem, i had one today , had changed the cold water storage and when i ran the hot it just trickled , turned on cold and hot with hand over bath tap outlet for a couple of seconds, worked fine after that
