Hi, I'm looking to buy some flat washers which can be used to secure some magnets in place - are any of the stainless steel washers for sale at Screwfix magnetic?

    Cheers

Hi Hannah. I don't think they are magnetic however there would be enough ferrous material in them to attract the magnets if that helps. Assuming you're screwing the washers to something that you then fix the magnet to, you might also gain some attraction from the screw so long as you don't use brass or glue of course. HTH.

It is unlikely - basic stainless steel is magnetic however most common ones have a higher chromium and nickel content, The nickel changes the structure and makes them non-magnetic.

You can buy rare earth magnets with a drilled and countersunk hole in them, try fleabay.
