What do ppl use For there storage boxes. I have various boxs and tools in them all but want to tidy them up. Put something in so the tools stay in position and stop sliding about. Example planer and jigsaw in one.
    Any ideas or suggestions

I worked in a company few years back and they had flight cases made for the equipment. Lots of this foam wasn't needed so was just stacked up, some people took it home. Remember bringing some home and liked picking the foam as was perforated in small squares.

A few years ago I manage to get some left over Plastazote & Shadowfoam thrown out by a firm, was great for router bits.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but a search before posting brought this thread up.

I'm looking to repurpose some Makita Makpac cases and am looking for foam inserts, am I right in assuming that these
    http://www.systemcontainers.co.uk/systainer-base-inserts
are compatible with the Makpac's, as that seems to be implied here, I'm also basing that guess on the fact the Makpacs are Length: 396mm x Width: 296mm, which is the same as the Metabo and Festool systainers.

    Thanks in advance

Yes they are. It's the depth of the case you'll need to account for.

Thank you and thank you a thousand times over, I actually emailed systemcontainers.co.uk and they said they didn't know as they had never seen a Makpac case..... which I found rather odd.

No problems, I have a couple of makpacs, but personally prefer the T-lock design. Much easier to use - the I find the makita latches quite stiff.

If you've got several cases you take onto jobs regularly, I'd recommend getting the cart. Makes it a doddle to take gear onto site.

Same here. the MacPacs are ok but the Tanos cases are far superior and stack and un-stack easily. I have a fair few Systainers for my Festool kit but even my Makita cordless kit is stored in a T5.

The draw packs are also very handy.

Is that the systainers with a draw? Are they any good, been eyeing them up for a while.

I've been moving most of my kit over to systainers lately, they are dear for a plastic box, but are the best storage solution I've found.

    I have the 9 draw (http://www.powertool-supplies.co.uk/festool-sortainer-sys-3-sort-9.html) and the 3 draw (http://www.powertool-supplies.co.uk/festool-sortainer-sys-4-tl-sort-3.html) mounted on a SYS-Roll (http://www.powertool-supplies.co.uk/festool-sys-roller-sys-roll-100.html).

Brilliant for small tool storage as you soon become accustomed to exactly what is stored where increasing productivity no end. In fact I'm going to buy another 3 draw shortly. As you say expensive but so hard wearing and versatile it would be very hard to go back.
