ive just got a dewalt cordless nail gun and i was just wondering what size nails to order for skirting and architrave. also ive seen a few of the 2nd fixers use these guns on both blockwork walls and studwalls, do they fire into blockwork easy enough and hole well?
    cheers

16 gauge nails are a light weight fixing nail, they will be ok for timber to timber fixing but I'd suggest a 15 gauge nail for fixing into blockwork

Around 40mm for archi and around 60mm for skirting

the rule of thumb is at least 2 1/2 times the thickness of what you are nailing down for weight bearing and just 2 times the thickness for trim work
