Hi all, Thanks for reading. We have built an extension and would like to secret nail the floorboards to the joists for the first floor bedrooms. There's no sub floor, just insulation between the joists and eventually plasterboard for the downstairs ceiling - no plasterboard on yet. Should we use a manual nailer or can we use a gas/electric one? Ta in advance
You are using T+G floorboards? I used lost-head screws like this: http://www.screwfix.com/p/tongue-tite-screws-3-5-x-45mm-pack-of-200/85991 Worked great - and easily removed if you ever need to reposition etc.

Morning, thanks for your replies. Forgot to add that it is 22mm t+g but can't for the life of me remember what type of wood. I recall that it's the type that 'doesn't have as many burs' if that helps. One more point to ask, as the nails/screws go in at an angle, how do you position yourself for the last couple of boards? When up close to the wall? Surely the nailer or drill will be too close to wall?? Thanks again
I always start with the first board with the grove against wall, fitting last board it is cut to size & then straight nail along it's cut edge the nailing is then hidden by the skirting.
