    Hi,

I am hoping for some advice regarding the outside of my downstairs WC.

The roof is starting to fall apart and the fascia is rotten. Also, the render which is used is horrible to look at.

Please see link to pictures below.

I am looking for a fairly cost effective way of sorting this which would look OK.

I am thinking that the roof and fascias need to be replaced (probably a pkastic fascia?), and a gutter installed. I would also like a smooth finish on the outside, not sure if it can be re-rendered to achieve this?

I am a novice when it comes to this so ideas / thoughts would be welcomed.

    Cheers,

    Gerry

Thanks, looks like a good idea for the roof.

Still a bit confused as to how I can approach the walls though? Does the current render need to be removed? Can it be rendered over the top? Could it cause problems if rendered over the top?

    Cheers,

    Gerry

You could over render, would need a SBR cement slurry apply one coat allow to dry, 24 hours later apply second coat, let it go tacky, then render scratch coat, when dry render top coat.
Probably cheaper than removing exsisting render, unless exsisting is loose & blown then I would remove it completely.

There is another product, which might be suitable, mentioned on this forum a few months ago, but the name eludes me.:(I will think of it.

    :) K Rend.

You might be able to over render with one of their products & trowel it up smooth.:)

Would most likely work out cheaper a one coat render than tradional sand/ cement render I mentioned earlier & quicker.

One good thing with K Rend is it doesn't need painting, as it's a through colour render & is available in 20 colours or so.
