Hi, fitting out a new bathroom and replacing the old bath with a shower bath, the shower end of the bath will have a stud wall at the end to take the shower fitting, I will use 12mm Hardibacker on this frame, my question is should I butt the end of the bath upto the board and then tile so the tiles sit down on the bath edge or should i run the board down onto the edge of the bath and then tile so both tile and board sit onto bath edge.

I'd butt the bath up to the end of the board, the former. That's how I'll be doing it - hardie backer on studwork first then bath up to it. Then tile with edge of tiles resting on the bath.

Cheers doc, I was hoping that would be right otherwise I lose a lot of bath edge with the tiles and backer.

silicon the bath to the hardieboard before you tile.
