It appears that we're both ignoring each other so all should be well.

"You couldn't go 2 rounds in a revolving door you dolt."

That answer creased me up. I have now got it filed away for any contingency that may require it...

I'm not entirely sure parahandshandy could tie his own shoelaces without falling over :)

    Order
Fisher FIS VT Chemical mortar resin. Product code: 14364.
    And Product Code: 90467.
Ream the holes out you've made in the lintel to 8mm and inject the resin.
    Then push in product 90467.

When that sets it will take the titanic to pull them out.

You guys should be embarrassed that through your squabbling, you have allowed ryuler to come in and give a perfectly usable solution!

    Shame on you.

On post #4 I gave 3 options that would all work.
Ry's option ignores gravity as that is scientific as opposed to asking god to keep the battens up while the resin sets :p:p

I think the clue ryuler gave was 'when that sets'

ie let the resin set with the plug in, then screw up.

What's stopping the plug from falling out while the resin sets?
I know how I would do this and it wouldn't cost £50 for resin and an applicator. :)
