Li-Fi wow its the future I remember reading about this a few years back, so I'm impressed its happened in Paris by a Scottish company. What's your thoughts ?
That's the main trouble with LiFi - everyone can see what I'm looking at. And, man, this forum can be filthy dirty at times...
In an office environment it will transform the way we work, apparently not so good in the gardens of certain members
Will it? Mibby I'm not fully understanding this. In what way will this transform office work? Cannae see it being much use in any outside scenario.
Having wires trailing across a office floor to the back of a pc, printer etc.. has lots of H&S slips trips and falls attached, having led lighting, saves energy, omits a more natural light, having led lighting that only comes on when activated via motion sensors etc.. saves even more energy. See when something that fits neatly into your life and you wondered what you did before this was invented? (i.e. the mobile phones, now smart phones) This is an invention to all that work in an office environment, will be massive. Eventually as the Li-Fi extends, as in parts of Asia where there is Wi-Fi on every street, (Uk struggling to keep up some places still have no 3G signal let alone 4G), delivered by the street lighting . The lighting will be cheaper to run with LED and Li-Fi beaming down so that you could easily walk / drive down the street streaming a movie etc the possibilities are endless Hope that helps
Wires trailing to the back of a PC? Is that PC running windows 3.1 by any chance? Nah Dave, this idea would get the bums rush on Dragons den, so for that reason...
