Hi. Im fitting a new mixer tap to our new sink in the utility room. One of those similar to this http://www.screwfix.com/p/swirl-side-lever-mono-mixer-kitchen-tap-chrome/10701. We have only cold water to the utility room so I was thinking of connecting the cold to the cold inlet, but does anyone know of any sort of screw in blanking plate for the hot inlet? trying to avoid a dangling hot pipe with some bodgeing on the end of it. Or do they do any similar taps that are one inlet only ( even if they are a separate hot and cold taps ) and if so what are they called please? Cheers.
Instead of screwing in the rigid tail for the hot, just use a metric screw instead to blank it off, will need some sealant to make watertight.
Well they're called taps, like these, Swirl Contract Cross Head Pillar Kitchen Taps Pair | Pillar Taps & Bib Taps | Screwfix.com but your utility would look pretty silly with just a cold tap stuck in the middle of the sink. Why don't you have hot water in your utility? You must be a northener and it's a scullery, wi' a wippet an' room for t' pigeons!
Found a better tap off amazon. What I actually wanted was called a prep tap, a high swivillay type one. Havent found the need to have a hot tap out there. Only have a washing machine with cold feed and a small vanity unit in with the loo. And who waits for the water to go hot to wash their hands? ( unless they are a soft lad )
