Oil paint storage..

    Ok so like most I use mainly water based paint on wood work now, much better with people in the house. But if they want high gloss and they are on holiday you can't beat oil, trouble is it stands in the van for ages not being used and skins over. Had the idea of using vapour fluid on a small bit of cloth held to the inside of the lid with a magnet just wondered if anybody had tried it and if it worked

    Just store the tin upside, making sure lid is secure, I just put a couple of wraps of duct tape around the tin.

    And if you buy the paint from our hosts or similar suppliers they come with little metal clips that stop the lid from popping - I keep hold of them an reuse them. May find a generous store assistant that can give you a handful

    Don't trust them, I put a wrap of duct tape round the tin.:eek:
