    Hi

I need to re-oil my kitchen worktops (oak). I have several half tins of Rustin's Danish oil - but they were supplied with the kitchen 7 years ago.

Should I buy new or will it be OK? It looks OK but I'm no expert!

    Thanks

  2. My guess is that if it looks ok, it is ok.

    But that's chust a guess :)

I think that would be fine

You might struggle to get the screw tops off the tins now. ;);)

Wow thanks - that's really interesting. I've done three coats and that's enough! It takes the kitchen out of action for way too long... (regret buying a wood worktop!)

The old oil was fine though had some shanky bits at the bottom so I didn't drain the can.

I've managed to spill it on the cupboard doors (melamine?) Any ideas how to get it off once dry?

  6. White spirits, probably. But best to do it before it dries?

Melamine is tough stuff, and designed to cope...

Sadly it has dried - white spirit doesn't shift it. Any ideas? thanks
