this tap is in my garden and has started leaking badly, started with just a drip but now is running constant.

it has the following engraved into it: see pic

it seems to say 1/2" ??i actually have 1/2" tap washers, but nothing else so is it just a case of unscrewing the nut with spanner and replacing the washer inside?

not done one before and would hate to be in position where i couldnt turn water back on!

    thanks

ye its a nice tap, a shiney new one would jut look so wrong on that wall!

well i'll open it up tomorrow to see if it actually is 1/2", im hoping that as it is engraved with 1/2" as in the above pic, then it will be.

If that was my tap, leaving patination on & mount it upright on a wood base & use it as a paperweight as below without bird.

We used to have a lovely Ford Anglia when I was a nipper. Probably been scrapped years ago.

Just because its old and looks nice doesn't mean it will still work well.

The time comes when all things must go to the great scrapyard in the sky.

Make a water feature with it.
