Hi there I have a problem with a newley skimmed/painted wall in my kitchen. The wall is an internal wall. One course of brick thick. The paint doesn't appear to be "drying" although it isn't wet to touch however If I run my finger nail through it to come off. This is the only place that's it is happening. I have taken the paint off the wall in this specific area and reapplied but it still happening. The wall underneath is bone dry. I will attach some images for you to see. Any advice as to what this could be? Many thanks
We don't have one. We've put an industrial dehumidifier in there. It it's not pulling out much water though?
Off topic I know, but many older installations of consumer units are either at ceiling height, or, as I'm this case, just off the floor, either way really handy to work on, lol.
Could well be rising damp. If you put an oil based primer sealer on it, allow it to dry and then paint the wall colour over the top of it that will hopefully hold it back
Seems to be old /new post Question is why was it reskimmed? Looks like some sort of drilling just above floor level, possible dpc injection perhaps?
