    Hello All,
New to the forum so please be gentle:).

I am due to paint the outside of my house (1930s semi) which is in desperate need of painting/coating, the tyrolean is showing black marks (guttering) and is letting in damp.

My plan of attack is as follows - wash black marks/worst areas with fungicidal wash then gentle jet wash entire outside to rinse and remove anything loose/powdery, leave this for a couple of days then paint with sandtex masonry paint.

Is this a good plan?? is there another product that may work better to waterproof tyrolean??

If the tyrolean is letting in damp, then it is usually cracked or hollow render (blown) in places,& water is getting behind it, unless leaking gutters have soaked the wall, you will also need to seal any powdery areas before painting.
