I would like some advice with two related problems please.
    1. A ceiling which is painted with a slightly shiny paint. It is not known if it is emulsion or acrylic and the shiny finish is similar to eggshell. Can it be successfully overpainted with emulsion paint after washing clean or will it also be necessary to to rub-down before painting?
    2. In the same room; the walls are painted with a shiny paint with a satin/silk finish. Again, not known if it is emulsion or acrylic. I assume that it will need rubbing-down before painting. Can it then be painted over with acrylic paint even if the original is emulsion paint?
    Thanks in advance, Dax

    Thanks Chippie.
I followed your advice and had no problems.
Sorry for the late response; I had broadband problems and then after that delay I forgot to reply.
