Im currently doing up a few rooms in my house and id like to replace door frames and skirting.

I removed the door fame and a 'decorative piece of wood, see some of the pics attached.

I want to replace the skirtings and also dryline the exteior facing wall. Would I just be better removing the lathe an plaster, add new pasterboard and then skim.

I also want to skim the roof in this room.

Any advice appreciated...and an idea of cost..? The room is approx 2.5m x 3.8.

  2. Any bits that are truly dodge - like the gaps you've shown - best to rip it off (nasty lathe...), p'bard and skim.

The bits which are solidly attached without significant gaps, just tidy up with filler or a skim-over.

    Imo...
