Evening gents, Testing for PFC today and my Megger 1552 bleeped and ticked as normal and then displayed E79. I changed the batteries and tried again and again and still got the same. I spoke to megger and the guy said that code would show if there was 'noise' or interference detected, so I switched the house off and tried again but no change. I suppose I can put the standard figure on the cert but has anyone got an idea as to what the problem might be?

First, thing I would do, is check the mains voltage is stable!
    Then do the pfc!
Then do same too, on a different property, and compare the readings!

Hi sparkin, voltage seems stable, 240v, not had this problem before. All other tests are fine.

    Now you got me!:)
Say a tns, would have it down, as an earth fault, if readings differ, within 2v!
    But a pme, don,t know!
TRY, against another property, on a different phase, to rule out mains!:)
