Does any know whether this http://www.screwfix.com/p/standalone-photocell/11330#product_additional_details_container will work with a low energy bulbs. In the description it says Specifications: 240V. 50/60Hz. IP44. Switching capacity: 1000W incandescent and W fluorescent. Fixings supplied. There is no number before W fluorescent Am I correct in assuming is the same as low energy bulbs?
I bought one of these for a terrace house which I had just bought to rent. Access to the backyard was through a gennel which was in total darkness. The gennel was used by another two families in addition to my tennent. The other two were over the moon when it was lit up for the first time in over a hundred years. However when I passed by I noticed the light was not on. I checked with my tennent. He had switched it off to save electricity!! Even after explaining it was an energy saving lamp of only a few watts he has never switched it back on. Although I said " Let there be light" there was none.
