Im plasterboarding a ceiling where the joist run into a RSJ in the centre of the room. How do I run the plasterboard under the RSJ as the bottom face is obviously lower then the joists, or alternatively do I need board over the RSJ or is the a different method.
You cut the joists so the bottom of the joist is level with the bottom of the RSJ or if someone has messed this up you need to pack out the bottom of the joists till they are level.
As Chippie said. Also, you're meant to use fire rated (pink) PB under a steel to meet building regs. Or double up on normal 12mm.
