Hi, I've orderd some plasterboard to put up on the cieling and walls just wondering what's best to use. 50mm clout nails or screws. Thanks in advance
Use them if you want and if it makes you happy but you could save a few pennies by using a shorter screw but what do I know, you thought about using clout nails...
OK they got some 38mm ones I've looked at clout nails. Was torn between the two. Was just going to see which ones quicker to do as have about 20 boards to do
38mm screws are normally long enough. These are Phillips screws so make sure you use the right bit or get a specialist plasterboard cup and bit driver
I've found this, so was going to order this when I get the screws. If I'm going into joists is it best to get fine or coarse thread.
Plasterboard/Drywall screws are only coarse thread. That drywall bit should stop you driving the screws in too far.
Go and buy yourself a Fein M-gun and collated screws. You will get a board fully screwed up in 5 minutes. I invested in one and the time and costs savings paid for it almost immediately.
