This bedroom is nearly finished, just have carpet to fit, install 2x curtain rails then oil the door.

Then back onto loft project, been almost 3 months since anythings got done here, taken on a big project.

Door oiled using Osmo Door Oil Satin finish. Dulux Satincoat Once. Tricky painting between the instrumenst strips, strips need fitting in before as can be difficult to get them in if paint ends up in groove.

The plasterer today let me take pictures of his tools... no jokes please :D:rolleyes:

A undercoats scratcher , made from old electrical wiring

An old float. Some screws, screwed into the front end only penetrating a few mm below surface for keying.

Now I do like undercoats scratcher, great idea, as to the second photo, I already do that with old floats.

The electrical wire tool was one of the first projects the plasterer had to make when doing his apprenticeship.

I agree that plastering can be addictive.
Your work is so good. I did some first-time skimming recently but I could never get it to dry a uniform
colour like yours so how did you achieve such an even colour?

Don't worry about it...as long as the finish is good, doesn't really matter. So many variables...

No probs. Skimming on to plaster boards generally results in a bit more uniform colour as the suction is more even over the entire area and skim thickness is also more consistent. You will also get an even colour if you don't wet the surface too much and over trowel.
