I recently purchase a Mira Shower sport to replace the old model which started to leak.
We have removed the shower and we could see that the pipework would come from the floor up, concealed thorough the wall. The shower connected straight from the rear.( see attached picture)
We have bought the new Mira sport, which showed on the box that the shower would also connect from rear, top and bottom. However, in the INSTALATION section at point no 2 is stated that “DO NOT USE an incoming supply entering the shower directly from the back. Add an elbow to the supply pipe and connect it as a rising or falling supply”.
What shall we do- do we still need to add the elbow recommended? The plumber could actually
fit the shower without the additional pipe work need it to enter the unit from either the top or the bottom, but we put the job on hold as the instructions were not clear to us. We were not sure whether the swivel arm (inlet connector) has some internal parts which would not work properly and the shower might get damaged for not having the elbow connected.
    Any feedback is much appreciated.

    hi,
i think this is because the inlet valve has been designed to have the entry from the top/bottom.
Could ask Mira if they manufacturer any units which will do what you want, or fit it so you just have a chrome compression elbow showing.

Would fit as manufacture recommends as they may not guarantee it its not fitted to their spec.

At present there is a 15mm isolation valve fitted. Just turn off the mains water at the stop tap and remove the isolating valve and fit a 15mm compression elbow and/or a length of 15 copper pipe - job done.

    hi
the cable seems a bit small?
i think you may need 10mm for that load, the cable looks like 6mm ?
or is that the angle of the photo?
    regards
    peter

Manufactures recommend a 45A MCB RCD protected, the shower can take upto 16mm T&E.

  6. Reference the supply cable, what was the rating of the old shower? 8.5kW? What is the rating of the mcb currently?
