Hello everyone, i am wondering if anyone could give me some advise on how much to charge for fitting a flat pack kitchen. Basically the job is not a straight forward "like for like" change. I've got the job through a recommendation, but will be fitting it at nights and weekends due to current workload. I don't know what a reasonable price is?? I will be ripping the old one out, organising the other trades, and making sure the job runs smoothly. I don't want to sound to expensive nor do I want to do it on the cheap. I know it's hard to work out a price when you can't see the kitchen there's roughly 13units to build and install, 3 cuts with the router on the worktops (not a 2min job are they!?) and a separate breakfeast bar to install. Any rough quotes of how much you would be looking for would be much appreciated. Thank you

    13 Units £650
    3 mitres £150
    Rip out £75
    B/bar £50

But I suspect there is more to the job than that.

Figure out what you would like to earn per day, Make sure the amount is in line with competitors.

work out how many days it will take you, work out what you need to pay out in labour, add all these amounts together....

Agree with Konect and Metro...seen kitchens turned into firewood with shody fitting...If you project manage the work, (therefore responsible for the finished product) consider that, you will get the phone calls. Being flatpack, most outlets offer a fitting service, ask your customer to get a quote from them,, you will fall of your router:)..but personally if I was that busy I wouldn't take on a fit like that on a nights and weekend..no control over any subbbies..good luck.

Just wondered that when you say you've got the job, have you not been asked to quote first ?

Just seems funny to have a job without being sure what to charge

Could lead to problems with the client when price is discussed, especially if part way through the job or at job completion

    Cheers Astra and P B

I'm not trying to be clever here but seems like working back to front

Don't most clients want to know the costs before the job starts or a contract is awarded - either a quote or at least an estimate

Maybe the work is for a friend or family , in these cases it's still equally important that a figure is discussed

    ok I did that
Id like to earn £500 per day
it will take me 3 days
i will pay out 0 labour
    500 +3+0= 503

also why do i have to make sure its in line with my competitors do we all need to conform?

Well you dont need to make sure its in line with competitors, However, if you charge £3000 per kitchen but other competant fitters charge £1200, Whos going to win the work? Also, 500 per day x 3 days is £1500, Not £503.
