Good day to you ladies and gents. Today is project ''Test A Washing Machine Element'' the element is from a Zanussi ZWN 120L 1 Before measurement is taken - null the leads 2 Element continuity ok 3 Hmmmmm interesting - time for an IR check 4 All is revealed - no wonder the RCD was tripping on certain cycles. And here ends the Project Test A washing Heater Element Project.
With the help of youtube, iv fixed so many faults on my appliances that in the past I would have scrapped!!
So No. 2 was continuity between element and earth! Not too easy to see where probes are clamped! Mr. HandyAndy - Really
So, other ppl will be able to carry out these tests, all they need is an expensive meter. They can buy a new machine cheaper. Only saying
Thats a very old tester I am using Nige - not very expensive at all m8 You can buy a 10 multimeter and check element resistance, and in some cases it will show a bad l or n to e..see picture 3
Two cheap meters. A digital one for resistance and an analogue one for continuity.(digital ones don't always pick up continuity if there is some resistance). Mr. HandyAndy - Really
Some digital testers have an ohm limit so won't tell you there is continuity if there is a certain amount of resistance. Mr. HandyAndy - Really
