Funny yes, but also contradicts it's self. We didn't write it as it now is and all the reason for wanting it would happen if we weren't in it, we are not a backwards country that needs a helping hand.
Enoch Powell must be turning in his grave,at the state of this country, there are many speeches by him, where people laughed at him,shame some of those are not alive today, they would be eating their words, you only have to go back to 1968 & his "Rivers of Blood" speech addressing a Conservative association meeting in Birmingham. "Mr Powell said Britain had to be mad to allow in 50,000 dependents of immigrants each year. He compared it to watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre". And he 'quote' He estimated that by the year 2000 up to seven million people - or one in ten of the population - would be of immigrant descent.
Yes, Mr Powell said all that. Back in 1968. A man of vision. "Rivers of blood" an all tha'. "Funeral pyre." 1978. 1988. 1998. 2008. Er, at what point do we say that, perhaps, he was exaggerating?
