Could any one give me some good advice on how to raise my old kitchen floor by 20-30mm so it is then the same height as my kitchen extension.
the floor area is about 25m2 and will be tiled.

Look at the performance data sheets for SBR.
It enhanced cementitious mixes to allow thin layers and also if mixed at ratios correctly...will perform as a DPM.

Drill, plug and screw along with polyurethane glue, sheets of 18/ 22/ 25mm (whichever is closest to your discrepancy) WBP ply direct to the floor. Check your floor for damp first, if ok then start fixing. Any small dips or level issues can be remedied with self levelling compound. You'll need to prime the ply/self leveller before you tile though.
