I am building a raised deck it will be 5500 x 42000 by 2000 high it's is on a metal frame with 9x three joists. It will be bolted to the house and sit on 4 legs bolted to bases. It will sit on heavy clay soil.
    My question is.
How deep, wide and filled with what ??Should the bases be ??
Brease blocks. 2 by 2 slabs bricks.
And how much mix would I need ??.
And helpful replies would be appreachated

You may need Planning permission and Building Regs, check with your local Council, footings in clay should always be 1m deep but deeper near trees. If you need Building Regs get the advice of your BCS700-800 square pad founded at 1m deep and about 600-700 thick would not be uncommon or filled up to ground for ease.

    Hi John
Thanks for that could I use blocks in the base to help fill the hole as the metal posts bolt onto the Finnished concrete.
As for debate " Post Crete or Concrete"??.

    No and no

Unless you build it properly you are going to kill someone.

You need to contact your local building control department in the council whom will tell you what you need.
