    Hi all
New board fitted problem is I flick the rcds on then mcbs one at a time, i get to the light circuit (only one circuit as its a bungalow) and the rcd trips? haven't done a megger test on the circuit as there about 15 low voltage light fittings attached. Is there a simple way of finding the fault. Ta

The simple way is to contact an Electrician.

Obviously not or you wouldn't be asking the question.

    Kind regards
    1 - Yes he did.

2 - No electrician, no notification etc. DIY job is my guess.

    Kind regards

Is it likely to be a faulty transformer???

It is likely to be that you have not carried out correct testing and inspection both before and after replacing the CU.

You do seem to have a little bit of a history regarding lack of testing, no certs for CU replacements etc.

Get a qualified, experienced spark in and pay the man for his knowledge and experience.

    Kind regards

Appreciate you input. You may have a point. My questioning is about seeing how many sparks do actually "cut corners" I can understand that there are law abiding citizens like oneself. Not all workman work by the book believe it or not. My main concern is that the problem is sorted therefore safe. A simple question. No disrespect to you electricians out there.

Without initial verification of the work it is impossible to claim that it will be safe.

Sparks don't cut corners because they understand and know the dangers. Cowboys and 5 day wonders cut corners!

If you want it sorted, like I said, get a qualified, experienced spark in. Learn from it and stop cutting corners when you take these jobs on.

Yes it may be faulty low voltage lights. Disconnect them. Carry out IR tests. If all is clear then suspect the low voltage lights.

    Kind regards

Yes I suppose I myself cut a corner on this particular job hoping the live results would come back fine. I will in future make sure I do all the tests in question as it obviously causes more problems. lesson learnt.
