    What brand is it?

I would guess that you need to push the small flange in as far as possible, hold it there and then start to pull the pipe out slowly, carefully and straight maybe rotating it as you go!

I don't know which brand it was, its all plain and no idea

will what you suggested...but do I need to twist something??

  4. Just undo the washing machine valve and put on the tee using the same nut and olive.
Remember and put a bit of paste on the olive.

if I were you I would not remove the copper ,if you are going to only change the washing machine isolation valve there's no point . just turn off water supply and drain down, undo the compression nut and take the valve off.

agree with Deleted member 11267 & terry, i will find the relevant spanners and try because the space is very tight there actually.

    what paste it would be?

if you don't have any paste its not worth buying some for one or two joints .PTFE tape is for sealing threads ,you wrap around the male thread . a compression fitting ,if done correctly ,does not require anything other than the olive to make a seal.however if you are going to re use the existing olive and nut ,that are on the pipe already ,a few turns of PTFE might be wise .it certainly won't do any harm.
