Hi All, wife wanted the Dado removed before papering the whole room but the walls had previously been emulsioned top and bottom up to the dado, so there is now a discernable indent nearly 3" wide that I am sure will show through the wallpaper. The room is about 3m x 3m.

    Thinking either:-
    1. that I PVA the gap and try and fill as best I can with a fine surface filler and sand
    2. try and feather the edges of the emulsion
    3. use a lining paper
    4. something else that I've missed?
    Any suggestions please?

    Thanks.

Perhaps worth giving a PVA first to prevent the filler drying out to quickly. Rub emulsion edges down until smooth. Grab a bag of Easy-fill and a wide scraper, or corker, and fill. (Easy-fill goes off quite quickly and is very easy to rub down.) Once dry (over-night in a home environment) rub down to a flush finish.

Thanks supertosh, I'll give that a try.

Another good product for that is Polycell Smoothover, I would not use the pva though it will be fine on a clean wall.

Yep, and maybe spot-fill any deep(nail/screw holes) first.

    Mr. HandyAndy - Really
