Replacing asbestos roof

Hi, I live in an ex council house in East London. I have an asbestos roof which I am trying to replace. I'be found a professional to remove the asbestos (counting this cost separately) but can't get any quotes to fit a new roof covering (the roof structure is okay and doesn't need to be touched). I've tried rated people.com and quoted up to £10k. Is that unrealistic just to put new tiles on? How much should it cost and are there any a alternatives to tiles? Many thanks for advice.
