I’m in the process of flooring the loft and wanted to add a light (maybe two) and switch from an existing ceiling rose in the bedroom below using T&E 1mm, I’ve watched this video which I found very useful, but wanted to confirm my understanding is correct, here’s a clip diagram from the video and pic below of my understanding: https://postimg.org/image/3sql5b8rh/c8401280/ Would this be correct?
Awesome thanks @spinlondon for the quick reply, no I don't need the new light to work from this particular light switch, but I am wanting to add a switch to the new cable when fitted for the new light, hopefully following this link to point 45. http://www.diyfixit.co.uk/electrics/adding-a-new-light-and-switch-one-way.html Thanks again!!
Your new cable will go from the rose pictured to one of the new ceiling roses using the same set of terminals in both. Then run a cable to the new switch as shown in the link. You then have to run a cable from the same set of terminals used for the lamp flex to the second rose and connect to the same terminals again in the second rose.
