Hi i dont know if i am putting this post in right forum - please let me know if im not. Problem is my daughter bought Hygena Stowe Oak laminate flooring from Homebase. Now i am having teriible problems getting scotia to match. Stupidly Homebase dont sell matching edging. Anyone have any advice please??? Replacing the skirting boards is not an option and we have already laid floor and left the necessary expansion gap
Yes the skirting is painted white - I had thought of that but would it look out of place on top of a grey floor? My daughter is so bloody fussy
Could have used a Laminate Floor Edging Trim, sometimes this looks bettere than scotia. Several types available, some self adhesive, some you screw down as above, before sliding in laminate.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Stowe...mtr-Quality-Alternate-to-Scotia-/222499095837
If you take a sample of the flooring to B&Q ( or a specialist paint centre) they will scan the colour and provide paint in the exact same colour. You can then use any moulding of choice and then paint it before fitting If you go for the Premium paint, it contains a primer to cut down the work
Used lots of it in the last 6 months in bedrooms for people - absolutely zero odour from the tins I used
Six months on, used 14 tins in 6 different colours on cupboards, skirting, radiator cabinets, architrave etc. No problem at all. Some of the cupboards are in kitchens and store food so any problem would be easily noticeable
Thanks everyone for your reply - we have decided to take your advice and paint the scotia. Have to add i have used coloured Valspar paint and found it really good - with no smell - maybe i was one of the lucky ones - at least i hope so as noone has said my house smells of cat urine
