I'm screeding my garage conversion floor and getting the screed delivered. It's only a small area, 3 cubic meters and we need to get the screed through the garage fire escape upvc window.

I can only think of shovelling the screed into flexi tubs and tipping through window.

I wondered how you pros do it as I was also thinking about building a timber chute and put it through the window to save my back.

    Got a photo.

Usually knock up a shute with sheeting ply, used corragated metal roofing sheet, even rubble shutes & large diameter gas pipe in the past.

Build a chute or hire some of the plastic chutes you get hanging off scaffold

  6. You can hire in mix 'n' pump. They'll mix up whatever you need and pump it wherever. I'd guess they're not cheap but they're certainly convenient.

If you can only get the screed in through the window, how are you going go get out after you've screened it.

You could end up like Paddy painting himself into the corner.

Also it must be a big garage if you need 3M3.

    @ 50mm that's 60M2.

Plasterboard needs trimming in places. Building control wanted a 70mm screed so we made them happy and went for 100mm

Nope, surprising I know as they have been a tad anal. Just wanted 100mm slab as we hit chalk when digging out.

I did think there may be a door on the opposite wall, but if the screeding coming in through the window and you're exiting through door, which way are you screeding. ??
