    Hi,

Just wanted some advice please, looking for a decent 6x4 shed, one i have seen looks good quality and its not from the usual places. It is from a local shed company that specialise in this area.

The price comes in just shy of £700, would it be more cost effective to buy the timber myself and make one?

    Many Thanks.

    Build every time.

That video is less so the idea of how to build it, but it gives you a good idea of price.

A crazy man, that's for sure. I wonder what the neighbors think with some of his 'projects'.

I would build my own, there's a few features you don't get in that £700. Remember that you're also paying for labour when you buy a shed, so you can get much better value for money when DIY'ing it.

A DPM wrap around the shed would make it last for years longer than a bought one.

You've got a few options for what to put the shed on, you could lay a concrete slab, or use concrete posts secured to the base of the shed. I prefer the post method, as you don't have to worry about water 'pooling' under the shed.
To see the post method being used, Fat's thread shows it done perfectly: http://community.screwfix.com/threads/shed-build.177731/

    You can buy a very good 6 x 4 for 350 / 400.

Did a Tiger shed a little while back.
Very cheap. I put extra strengthening inside, plus reinforced the door.
Some plywood inside to protect the walls it really make it robust, & to hang things on.
Extra wood n bits about £60
Otherwise apart from that it was ok for the money.
    8 X 6 Pent £330.
