Should the UK remain as a member of the EU?

  1. Yes

    34 vote(s)
    28.1%
  2. No

    83 vote(s)
    68.6%
  3. I don't know

    2 vote(s)
    1.7%
  4. I don't vote

    2 vote(s)
    1.7%
  1. John Oliver's best yet - genuinely burst-out funny. If it wasn't so tragic.

  2. I'm pretty sure a re-run would sort it - for lots of reasons.

The now fully exposed lies of the Leave campaign (Debunked by themselves the morning after).

The now fully realised truths of the financial experts (and this is before Article 50 - just wait until it's signed...).

The acceptance by many Leavers that they didn't actually want what they voted for.

The full exposure of The Boris as a self-serving copper-bottomed hypocrite who - even now - cannot stop lying (this morning he claimed the Leave votes weren't about immigration...)

Perhaps some contriteness from the rich comfy OAPS who hark back to 'the good old days' and who now realise they've wrecked the future for many of their kids and grand children.

So, I agree, it would be nice if we had a second chance and some more youngsters 'rose from the couch', but I think they are the least to blame in all this.

Did anybody else see that Screwfix announcement?

Following the EU referendum the new Screwfix catalogue has been updated:
    • French doors are now pre-locked.
    • Products will be supplied in imperial units: Chain in rods, rods in chain, stone in grain and grain in stone.
    • Pack quanities will now be a dozen, bakers' dozen, dirty dozen, gross and very gross.
    • Socket drives will now be 6mm, 9mm and 12mm, just to be contrary.
    • Everything from British General will only be available in white.
    • Continental filling knives will be replaced with no-nonsense, garlic free, knives.
    • Danish oil will be replaced with no-nonsense bacon grease.
    • We will continue to stock frog tape, although it will still be stuck up.
    • Dutch hoes can be found in the innuendo section.
    • Soudal products will remain out of stock until someone works out how to pronounce it.
    • Fischer will get rid of that pointless "c" from their name.
    • Next day delivery is unavailable on anything under article 50.

  5. Read my post immediately above yours, Brian. You know perfectly well that's not what I'm saying .

Anyhoo - tell me again, is the government allowing migrants to GHV with false licenses...?

    GHV ?

Yes they are! but, if your happy with an untrained driver which never passed the UK driving test being in charge of 44tons of rolling mass travelling behind your family on the motorway at 56MPH then who am I to argue?

If you read the second article I posted you'll see just one example who luckily was caught but, there are many more that are not and alot of them are employed by one of the UK's largest supermarkets, who put profits before the safety of the public.

Yeah.. let those 17,000 000 million who voted "leave" be scourged and let hell and damnation follow them for the rest of their day.

Well lets all hope that it does not turn out to be a Pyrrhic victory for the brexiters.
    Only time will tell.
Germany and France are still considering harmonising corporation tax rates.
I voted to remain but I really cannot see any future in trying to make all the 28 countries have the same tax rates while retaining their own sovereignty. The introduction of the Euro was the nail in the coffin for the poorer countries like Greece because a lot of their present problems might have been alleviated by a currency devaluation.

Finally starting to realise why some of us voted leave, it's got nowt to do with Boris the Baffoon, gove or even Farage, it's was all about not being part of the United States of Europe.

Here in Spain, taking to the Spainish their opinion is that they wished they to could have a referendum so they too could vote leave.

I would still vote to remain as the lesser of two evils in my opinion.
But lets make no bones about it a revolution has started.
When that happens ,looking at history, no-one on earth can predict what will happen.

  13. Ok, Brian.

I think I see where you're coming from.

  14. Phil trying to pretend he had a reasoned argument throughout this campaign . Now't to do with Boris et al...

Hundreds of pages on, he jumps on Pauls words; "YES! YES! THAT'S IT! THAT'S WHY!"

Paul, do you think that the UK - which is a sovereign nation, by the way - would ever agree to have it's tax rates determined by anyone but themselves? No. And they could - and would - veto the possibility.

Phil, you are speaking to 'the Spanish', are you? How many, I wonder...

But some Spaniards will, absolutely, want 'out', like will a good number in all EU countries. It is - as regular as clockwork - what happens following a recession.

But, like the Leaver here, it would be a mistake.

That it has, at least now we are on the outside looking in as opposed being on the inside being dragged down.
Mark my words the EU will collapse that will not be a bad thing long term, yes the immediate effects will be very hard to cope with, but the long term future will be miles better than the future would be as the EU is now.

No I'm not, how many times did I diss Boris and Farage.???

As for speaking to the Spainish, only ones who have asked me about the UK leaving, so yes you are right in that they too are peeps who would leave if given the opportunity, but that should at least tell that the EU is disliked all over Europe.

The EU never did what it was supposed to do anyway, free trade,no way! I know a chap who makes specialist equipment that is sold all over the world, every european country he sells it in costs him thousands to set it up,although tested in Britain and approved to european standards, every time he sells it in another euro country it has to be tested again to the same standard.Utter madness.

  18. I'm very surprised at this, Phil. Are you sure?

  19. Man, you're summat you are :)

"At least we're on the outside looking in..."

'Cos the EU is bound to fail, innit?

Your wishful thinking doesn't make it so. Although having one of the 'big three' cop out through lies and ignorance will certainly help.

I think your attitude is a disgrace, Phil. Utterly appalling. Willing the destruction of the EU - an overwhelming power for the good of its people. And beyond.

    Shocking attitude.
