Yes. I know. Not ideal and riddled with problems, but buying a house with a free standing bath and no shower and need a fix until we can afford a new bathroom.

Bit of Internet research and something like this appears to be the best option - shower head above you to minimise the splash and mess for the rest of the bathroom integrated into the shower curtain rail, so there are no gaps in the curtain. Issue is, I can only find a product like this on this website so far, and no prices on the website suggests pricey! Anyone seen anything like this anywhere else?

Apart from cost of the actual unit I can see other problem arising, mainly being the water pressure required to run such a shower, if you have a standard gravity fed supply on the hot water side, I very much doubt it would push the water up high enough for it to come out of the head, let alone supply enough to shower under.:(

  5. Good point old boy I did not even think of raising that up the one I fitted was on a combi boiler with very high pressure

Have u looked at this website http://www.justshowerrails.co.uk/oval-shower-curtain-rails.htm for a bespoke rails and enquire about a shower head holder to be added? At least it be like 4 times cheaper but still expensive in terms of cost around 300 till u get ur new bathroom sorted but would give u a lasting impression and workmanship.

Or this http://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/Luxury-Chrome-Plated-Racetrack-Shower-Curtain-Rail.aspx and find a a pole and fix your shower to this pole, for th love of my life can't think what they r called them rail holders....

OK been looking around for you and if you have gone with the above victoriaplumbing oval shower curtain then you should be able to buy the following:-

Chromed Oval Shower rail - http://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/Luxury-Chrome-Plated-Racetrack-Shower-Curtain-Rail.aspx at £149.95
    25mm Clamp over Tee joint (Reference #4842030) - http://hshome.co.uk/browse.cfm?25MM...OAT-HANDRAILS--PULPIT---PUSHPITS&l=0000000175 at £4.63
    25mm SHower Head Clamp - http://www.showerspares.com/all_shower_accessories/all_clamp_brackets/ at around £10
25mm Tubing (from oval rail to floor) - http://www.shopfittingwarehouse.co....hanging-rail-chrome-finish-l3000mm-dia25mm-p9 at £7.95
    25mm Chrome sockets - http://www.shopfittingwarehouse.co.uk/fixtures-fittings-c4/tubes-clamps-c5/chrome-socket-25mm-p8 at 86p

For all the above comes to around £173.39 to give you an idea, not included the shower head and hose as well as teh curtain itself etc as this will varies massively on the types you want, but the above is my ideal methods of do what you wish for now at a budget. Hopes this helps, of course u need to determine if ur hot water is gravity or combi etc before deciding.

Thanks pj wales. That's really helpful. I know it's a combi boiler, so will check pressure and supply when we're in
