I'm revamping my kitchen and looking for a general price to skim ceiling over new board 24m2. Walls approx 30m2. What is the going rate for re skimming for a job this size? All plaster boarding done. Thanks in advance.
I know some people use this: http://www.whatprice.co.uk/costs/plastering-cost-calculator.php be interested what others think about it? You may find some wont want to plaster work they haven't prepared. Let us know what happens.
Using that site, just got a estimate for my living room, walls and ceiling. 374.00, I don't think so somehow, if there's a plasterer out there that would it for it, come on round. Room is 6.5m x 3.0m, 2 doors, 1 window.
There is another way; 1. Three day plastering course in Glasgow area £270 2. Cost of trowel & other tools £100 ish 3. A few bags of plaster @ £6- £8 a go 4. Your free labour £00 Have a go , you get to learn a new skill and save some money.
That is £376 - £378, which is more than Phil was quoted F.Y.I Bucket £2 - £5 Decent for 1 off use Plastering trowel – £5 Plastering corner trowel – £5 -£10 Hawk – £5 Plaster mixing tub or bucket £2 - £5 Plastering float – £5 - £10 Plasterboard and drywall scarifier – £5 - £10 Paint brush – £1 Pad saw – £5 Straight edge – Most likely have one anyway, IE: Spirit level or £5 Stanley knife – £2 - £5 Hacksaw – £2 - £5 Spirit level – (As above) Hammer – (Will likely have one) or £5 Dustsheet – £5 - £10
Sorry for the extra post as the 10 minute edit limit ran out Might get them even cheaper in Car booty's, Flea markets of Auction sites like Fleabay
£656 inc materials from 1st lad, seems alright. The fact that all I've got in the kitchen just now is a sink and cooker, to tell the wife she's to wait until I've gone to Glasgow to do a course before she gets her kitchen back especially with a toddler and another appearing in a couple months!!! May just be game over for me. Ha ha
Yeah it's a bit bonkers isnt it Phil! The reason i came about it was when I repaired a ceiling for someone who was expecting around the £34 Mark. I put in the dimensions are fair play thats what it told them!
