when installing skirting trunking do you install so its touching the floor or raise it up from the floor ?

If touching the floor are the sockets not to low causing the flex to bend when using the sockets ?

Most skirting trunking is designed to sit on the floor, carpet/carpet tiles etc running upto the bottom lip.

The socket boxes are designed to be higher up in the trunking, to take account of the flex issue.

It really depends on make though, some has a lid which goes to the base, so must be sat above the floor covering.

just been looking at dimensions of several skirting trunking and there is only around 50mm depth between bottom of socket and bottom of trunking .

They all work fine. That's why skirting trunking is the depth it is. It works.

50mm is plenty. It's used everywhere with no issues!

I've seen some where the sockets sit on top of the trunking.

Quite often fit dado either at dado height, or sitting just above existing skirting.
