Hi, need some advice on a cold slightly damp upstairs wall. I think damp is coming through on some render that meets the single storey roof. I believe the walls are solid with no cavity. Customer wants it battened, and insulated plaster board screwed to the wall....this of course wont stop any damp rotting the wood and coming through the plaster board. Any advice on what to use would be appreciated.

Get the damp looked at by a damp surveyor. Why would you cover up? Crazy. Don't get involved until it's sorted.

Need to find the cause, dodgy render, flashing, etc, & then find a solution to fix it,agee covering it it up is only hiding the problem.

If customer wants you to bodge it,then walk away,& don't get involved.
