A GLASS KITCHEN WORKTOP THAT HAS A LARGE CRACK GOING THROUGH IT. WITHOUT HAVING TO REPLACE, ANYONE GOT ANY IDEA HOW TO REPAIR? IS THERE SOMETHING YOU CAN JUST PUT OVER THE TOP THAT WORKS WELL FOR A WORK SURFACE SO IT CAN BE REPLACED IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS?? ANY IDEAS WELCOMED. THANKS
Ply would need sealing to make it vaguely hygenic to use in a kitchen for approx 6 months - guess could paint it but just depends what you use this worktop for Could bond on a sheet of pvc or Perspex but it's pretty expensive stuff when you go large B&Q have a basic range of chipboard worktops, 600mm depth for around £40 for a 3 mtr length Often have damaged lengths with decent reductions as well. May well be worthwhile as a temporary stopgap and cheap enough
Yes easy to cut, will go around the sink if you cut it to the required shape etc. Go around the edges with a clear silicon sealant to waterproof the edges as a temporary arrangement.
Use Stixall it sticks & seals all in one tube, available white, clear from TS. http://www.everbuild.co.uk/stixall-1
