Thanks, yes you're right the top stack isn't high enough, it needs to vent 900mm higher than the top window, which is going to be really high and unsupported, so we have ordered an air admittance valve instead. Also the waste for the basin enters the 3 way boss on the left hand side, which can't be seen. Originally the waste entered inside and tapped into the WC soil pipe, but decided to connect it separate.
Good to an access bend fitted, & a very neat installation Jit. Do like that Brett Martin Cast iron Style soil pipe, looks really smart.
Iv'e only just seen your post. It took about 2 days to do the stack, the WC in the bathroom required moving and alteration, see other project photos. When the old stack came out the elbow was imbedded in concrete, so had to use a breaker to release it. Also the old bricks were covered in cement, so had to slowly chip away at it. i was left with a hole measuring 2ft x 2ft which needed re bricking.
Ive got the front guttering to do this late summer using the the same style guttering, I will have it scaffolded again. Will post pics then
I was looking at using aluminum guttering, but decide on this as its much easier to fit, it looks much smarter now the house is in a conservation area. People have commented upon as its hard to tell whether it is cast iron, even up close it look the part.
Thanks Tom, I will look at getting this sorted in summer, I will make the hole in the brick slightly large so the elbow fitting is more enclosed, then it will be much tighter against the wall.
Brett Martin 'Cascade' range of cast iron style plastic guttering is superb, available in six colours & several styles & various motifs, you'll struggle to tell the difference between cast iron & plastic. Brian, I'm surprised you never seen Brett Martin range.
