    Hi

I have a ceiling down, so I am sound proofing the ceiling.

I have the acoustic rockwool I am putting up.

I have seen some people use resiliant bars and acoustic sealant also.

Above this room will be a bedroom, so not as if I am sound proofing for a noisy neighbour or a recording studio.

As I haven't sound proofed a ceiling before, was interested to hear opinions on the necessity of resiliant bars and acoustic sealant. Do you think it best to use them? Or is the rockwool sufficient?

I have timber joists and the room below the ceiling is a big open plan kitchen.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers
