Doesn't need to be clear, but talk her out of it, she will hate it in 6 months time. Horrible to keep clean and finger mark free.

 

You can get white and clear, screwfix stock it.

Just used some to fix some shower panels on as I ran out of the manufacturers adhesive. Very sticky

They don't get that hot, so any tubed adhesives will do it.

Why not drill it and fix with screws.......so 6 months time when she hates it, it won't rip the dry lining clean away.

And yes, I've been there.
