If I take a spur directly from the mcb, am I right supposing regs state the spur can only serve one point (an fcu in this case) ?

A spur from an MCB is a radial isnt it?

Because If I could link x3 fcu,s in series from an mcb spur it would save me a lot of hassle ! as long as the spur cc can take the mcb rating (40A)

I take it, you wish to spur off the cooker circuit?

No, a radial is a radial.
Aspur is a branch from a ring final cct.

A final ring cct is just 2 radials....joined at the ends ....lol

That poses the question: Can you run two radials direct from a single appropriately rated MCB? For example: 2.5mm with a 16A MCB

    Yes of course you can.

Because by definition it is still only one radial final circuit.

It's impossible to have two circuits on one MCB.
    Yep, what he said.

    One twin radial circuit then...

As long as you join the ends togeteher and make it a ring...lol
Seriously tho, sub ccts should be divided appropriately and individually protected ..if possible..in an ideal world etc.....but will work without probs as you indicated Sen

    Two legs of a radial?

Yes agreed Spin, even if we could get a dozen cables into an mcb it would still be classed as one circuit, daft as it is! :)

How is it daft? (Although connecting 12 cables into a protective device would undoubtedly be daft, and is unlikely to be approved by the protective device manufacturer.) But in principle there is nothing wrong with multiple cables there - a centre fed radial will in fact reduce Zs at the extremities etc.

What I meant as "daft" is the fact that a number of radials from an mcb are classed as one circuit! I know that's the way it is and we have to accept it but it would seem more logical to me to call each radial feed out a circuit.
