    Evening gents.

Can anyone recommend a product to stick wood to glass.

Its for the astrals or whatever you call them.

    Thanks

    Double sided, glazing tape.

I put them on yesterday with double sided tape and they fixed fast, today they are coming off, is there a glue or silicone?

Just to let you know, I do occasional work on two properties where they have double glazing with astrals stuck on with double sided tape they are also coming off! You could try Stix Like ****

I would think any form of clear silicon adhesive would do.

Try 3 layers of double-sided tape. Bit more flexibility!

Not an option HA, I have eleven windows to do, each with 7 pieces of wood.

Think I am going to try the stix like sh** option

Just make sure the glass is REALLY clean.

Handy is entirely right the key to ensuring adhesion is making sure the glass is uber clean. Perhaps a wipe over with a bit of UPVC cleaner "the peardrop smelling one" prior to bonding might be wise.

I think that may be my problem, I am refurbing some summer house windows where a lot of the astrals had come off.

I had one of the lads remove the rest of them and the glue/silicone, I then started to stick on new astrals without really checking how clean the glass was.

I did price it for replacing them with that decorative lead but it needs to be 20mm wide to hide the internal astral, but I can't that find anywhere.

Spent the day cutting new ones and sticking them on, only for them to start pulling off the next day.

Hopefully I won't need to replace all of them.

    Thanks for the input gents.

    REGALEAD.

They do a 22mm Heritage range self adhesive.

  14. What's an 'astral'?

But the Stixall products by Everbuild are very powerful, and they have a clear option if you need it.

    Good man kiab.

And how long did I look for this stuff.

    Obviously not long enough.

Bit late in the day for it now though, already told the customer I wouldn't be charging for something else I did because I couldn't get the lead.

You can get a tape to do it.

Stuck them on with stix like sh now.

Wish I had found the 22mm lead before though, would have looked a lot better and stayed on.
